How to change the router password for National

This article is recommended to advanced users only.

Your Virgin Media National router has a username and password (printed on the underside of the router) that can be used to access its own administration interface. In order to protect your router from unauthorised changes, you may wish to change this password.

To change the password for your National router's administration interface, please select your equipment from the list below:

NETGEAR router

D-Link router

Thomson router

Warning: if you change your router's password and then forget the password, there is no way to recover it. In this case you would need to reset the router to its factory default settings.

Want to change your National account password instead?

If you wish to change the password for your Virgin Media National account instead of the password for your router, please see the following article:

How to change the password on your National broadband account

Note: Changing your My Virgin Media account password will require you to update the broadband password stored by your router.
