Your Virgin Media toolbar
I've installed the toolbar but why does it not appear in my browser?
In your browser bar, click on View then Toolbars and select our customised toolbar. If you still can't see it, it might be because your Internet Explorer toolbars are locked. Try right-clicking with your mouse in the top grey bit of the screen in Internet Explorer, and check if the "Lock the Toolbars" option is ticked. If it is, try unticking it, and then try the above again.
It might also be hidden on the right hand side of your browser. To fix this, just move your mouse over it, click and hold down the mouse, and drag the toolbar down lower on the screen where you can see all of it.
Why do I get an ActiveX error message when I try and install the toolbar?
Your internet security settings may be set to "high". This setting will prevent ActiveX controls from running and to install the toolbar you must have ActiveX controls enabled. To do this, follow these simple steps:
- From your browser bar, select Tools then Internet Options.
- Click on the Security tab.
- Click on the Internet icon in the window.
- Change the security setting to Medium.
- Click OK and then try and re-install the toolbar.
How do I know if a new version of the toolbar is available?
Our toolbar automatically updates so you don't need to do a thing!
Why does the installation of the toolbar fail when using Windows NT, ME and 2000?
We don't support the toolbar on these operating systems so you won't be able to download it.
Will the toolbar work with all computers?
The Virgin Media toolbar will work on the vast majority of computers including Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows 2000, but unfortunately it is not compatible with Windows 98, Millennium or NT.

How do I set the weather for my area?
Click on "Select City" in the toolbar when you have first installed it:
Highlight your city on the drop-list, then click on the plus button on the right to select it. You can save your selection, add another city from the list (up to 10 in total), or remove a city using the minus button.
When you save your city, your selection will be added to the list of cities in your toolbar and the current weather in that city will be displayed. You can click on the down arrow next to the weather in the toolbar to select one of your other chosen locations:
Click on the weather conditions in the toolbar to display a detailed three-day weather forecast for that city. You can also click on the "More Detail" link to go to the virginmedia.com weather channel for more detailed forecasts.
