How do I use my Free Voicemail?

Who needs an answer phone if you’ve got Free Voicemail at your finger tips?

Getting Free Voicemail

Depending on where you live, most Virgin Phone customers can have our free voicemail service.

To subscribe call our team on 150 from a Virgin Media phone or mobile, or 0845 454 1111* from any other phone and select option 4.

Once you have subscribed your service will be ready within 24 hours.

Using your Free Voicemail for the first time

Once you’re set up, just dial 1571 to access your service.

The first time you use it, you’ll hear a short message which tells you how to use it. It only plays once though, so listen carefully.

Checking your messages

If you’ve got a message, you’ll hear an intermittent dial tone when you pick up the phone. Next, dial 1571, then press 1.

Your messages will be played automatically in date and time order.

As soon as you log in, the Free Voicemail system will tell you which keys to press to manage your mailbox.  If you don’t have any messages, you won’t hear any voice prompts.

By the way, if you want to be able to access your voicemail messages from any phone, you'll need to subscribe to Voicemail Plus.

Saving messages

Free Voicemail also lets you store messages after you’ve listened to them. To save a message, press 2.

If you don’t delete your message right away, it’ll be stored for three days, unless you re-save it.

You can save up to 10 messages at one time.

Unplayed messages will be stored for 18 days, which is great for when you’re on holiday. After that, they’ll automatically be deleted.

Deleting messages

If you listen to a message and don’t save it, it might be deleted automatically.

Unplayed messages will be deleted after 18 days.

You can delete a message by pressing 3.
