Connecting a Windows 10 PC to a wireless network

Click your Virgin Media Router below for information on how to connect your Windows 10 PC to your wireless network.

Hub 3.0

If you’ve got a computer running Windows 10 and want to connect it your home broadband connection, then don’t worry, we’ll get you up and running in no time.

The following instructions assume that you have a wireless adapter built in to your computer or laptop. If you use an external wireless adapter, please make sure it’s connected and you’ve followed the appropriate installations instructions

First, you need to make sure you’ve set up your router. If not, and it’s one we’ve supplied, check ‘Setting up your Virgin Media router

Follow the step by step instructions below to connect to your Hub 3.0:

  1. Locate the WiFi details for your Hub 3.0, you can find these pull out tab, which can be found on the side of the Hub 3.0:

    The details are also printed on the bottom of the Hub 3.0.

  2. Click the Wireless icon in the system tray. The icon looks like this:

  4. Windows will now show you all available wireless networks.
  5. Windows 10 WiFi List
  6. Locate your Hub 3.0's SSID / WiFi Network name and then click Connect. There is one SSID for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Your computer will connect to the best network available. Windows 10 WiFi Connect
  7. Enter the Passphrase / WiFi Password. Windows 10 WiFi Password
  8. Click Next.
  9. When your network security key is accepted, you’ll see ‘Connected’ next to the name of the network you selected.

That’s it! You’re ready to use your Hub 3.0's wireless Internet connection.

Super Hub 2ac

If you’ve got a computer running Windows 10 and want to connect it your home broadband connection, then don’t worry, we’ll get you up and running in no time.

The following instructions assume that you have a wireless adapter built in to your computer or laptop. If you use an external wireless adapter, please make sure it’s connected and you’ve followed the appropriate installations instructions

First, you need to make sure you’ve set up your router. If not, and it’s one we’ve supplied, check ‘Setting up your Virgin Media router

Follow the step by step instructions below to connect to your Super Hub:

  1. Locate the WiFi details for your Super Hub, you can find these on the sticker on the bottom on your Super Hub, which will look like this:
  2. Make a note of the Passphrase / WiFi Password from the label.
  3. Click the Wireless icon in the system tray. The icon looks like this:

  5. Windows will now show you all available wireless networks.
  6. Windows 10 WiFi List
  7. Locate your Super Hub 2ac's SSID / WiFi Network name and then click Connect. If you can see both SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, we recommend connecting to the 5GHz network. Windows 10 WiFi Connect
  8. Enter the Passphrase / WiFi Password. Windows 10 WiFi Password
  9. Click Next.
  10. When your network security key is accepted, you’ll see ‘Connected’ next to the name of the network you selected.

That’s it! You’re ready to use your Super Hub’s wireless Internet connection.

Super Hub 2

  1. Locate the WiFi details for your Super Hub, you can find these on the sticker on the bottom on your Super Hub, which will look like one of this:
  2. Make a note of the Passphrase / WiFi Password from the label.
  3. Click the Wireless icon in the system tray. The icon looks like this:

  5. Windows will now show you all available wireless networks.
  6. Windows 10 WiFi List
  7. Locate your Super Hub 2's SSID / WiFi Network name and then click Connect. If you can see both SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, we recommend connecting to the 5GHz network. Windows 10 WiFi Connect
  8. Enter the Passphrase / WiFi Password. Windows 10 WiFi Password
  9. Click Next.
