Connecting an Apple device to a wireless network

Click your Virgin Media Router below for information on how to connect your Apple device to your wireless network.

Hub 3.0

If you’ve just got yourself a new iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and want to connect it your home broadband connection, then don’t worry, we’ll get you up and running in no time.

First, you need to make sure you’ve set up your router. If not, and it’s one we’ve supplied, check ‘Setting up your Virgin Media router

Follow the step by step instructions below to connect to your Hub 3.0:

  1. Locate the WiFi details for your Hub 3.0, you can find these pull out tab, which can be found on the side of the Hub 3.0:

  2. From your iPad or iPhone’s home screen tap Settings
  3. Select WiFi from the list of options
  4. Make sure the Wifi slider is set to On
  5. Find the SSID in the Choose a Network list. There is one SSID for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Your device will connect to the best network available.
  6. Tap the selected SSID to connect
  7. On the Enter Password screen, enter your Hub 3.0’s Passphrase / WiFi Password and tap the Join button

That’s it! You’re ready to use your Hub 3.0's wireless Internet connection.

Super Hub 2ac

Alternatively follow the step by step instructions below to connect to your Super Hub 2ac:

  1. Locate the WiFi details for your Super Hub 2ac, the easiest place to find these is on the sticker on the bottom on your device, which will look like this:
  2. Make a note of the Passphrase / WiFi Password from the label.
  3. From your iPad or iPhone’s home screen tap Settings
  4. Select WiFi from the list of options
  5. Make sure the Wifi slider is set to On
  6. Find the SSID in the Choose a Network list. If you can see both SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, we recommend connecting to the 5GHz network.
  7. Tap the selected SSID to connect
  8. On the Enter Password screen, enter your Super Hub’s Passphrase / WiFi Password and tap the Join button

That’s it! You’re ready to use your Super Hub’s wireless Internet connection.

  1. Locate the WiFi details for your Super Hub 2, the easiest place to find these is on the sticker on the bottom on your device, which will look like one of these:
  2. Make a note of the Passphrase / WiFi Password from the label.
  3. From your iPad or iPhone’s home screen tap Settings
  4. Select WiFi from the list of options
  5. Make sure the Wifi slider is set to On
  6. Find the SSID in the Choose a Network list. If you can see both SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz, we recommend connecting to the 5GHz network.
  7. Tap the selected SSID to connect
  8. On the Enter Password screen, enter your Super Hub’s Passphrase / WiFi Password and tap the Join button

That’s it! You’re ready to use your Super Hub’s wireless Internet connection.

  7. On the Enter Password screen, enter your Super Hub’s Passphrase and tap the Join button
