How to import or export address books and business cards in Outlook Express

To export an address book or business card from Outlook Express, follow these steps:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Address Book. The address book window displays.

  2. From the Address Book, click on the File menu, select Export, and then select either Address Book or Business Card (vcard)

  3. Browse to a location on your computer where you want to save a copy of the address book or business card.

  4. Type in a name for the file (such as address_book_backup), and click on Save.

How do I import address books or business cards into Outlook Express?

To import an address book or business card into Outlook Express, follow these steps:

  1. From the Tools menu, select Address Book. The address book window displays.

  2. From the Address Book, click on the File menu, select Import, and then select either Address Book or Business Card (vcard)

  3. Browse to the location on your computer where the address book or business card file you want to import is located, and click Open. You may need to run through an import wizard depending on the type of address book that is being imported.
