What are the Virgin Media IP address ranges for National?
This article is recommended to advanced users only.
Valid Virgin Media IP address ranges
Virgin Media assign IP addresses that fall within the following ranges:
62.xxx.xxx.xxx
80.xxx.xxx.xxx
81.xxx.xxx.xxx
82.xxx.xxx.xxx
86.xxx.xxx.xxx
213.xxx.xxx.xxx
If you use a router, your computer (and any other devices connected to the router) may report an IP address that looks like this:
192.xxx.xxx.xxx
The router itself should have been assigned an IP address that falls within the above valid ranges.
Private IP addresses
Private IP addresses take the following form:
10.xxx.xxx.xxx
172.xxx.xxx.xxx
Note: it is unlikely that you will be able to connect to the Internet if you have been assigned a private IP address. To counteract this, make sure that your machine is set to pick up an IP address automatically. Look at the guides below for more information:

Invalid DHCP IP addresses
If your computer has been unable to contact the DHCP server, you may be assigned an IP address in the following form:
169.xxx.xxx.xxx
In this case you will not be able to access the Internet. To resolve the problem, reboot the router and your computer.
