Why can’t I connect to the Internet? (national dial-up)

We know how frustrating it is when things don’t work as they should. If you can see a message similar to these two below, or you can’t get online, follow the steps below to get back up and running quickly.



    Follow the steps below and after each one, check again to see if you can connect to the Internet.

    1. Check and reboot the computer
    2. Check for a dial tone
    3. Check your username and password is correct
    4. Do you use BT 1571 call minder or 141 phone number withheld? (24seven customers only)
    5. Have you moved house or changed your phone number or supplier? (24seven customers only)
    6. Have your account details changed?
    7. Check your computer’s dial-up settings
    8. Check your computer’s Internet options (Windows PCs only)
