How to check if the username and password are correct

To check your username and password are entered correctly, double click on the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop as if you were dialling up to the Internet using Virgin Media. (If necessary, click on Cancel to stop your connection.) A connection box similar to the following displays:

Your User name and Password will be displayed in this box. Your password will be masked by asterisks for security reasons.

Your user name

Your user name is based on the first part of your email address, for example, if your email address is richard.branson@virgin.net your user name would be richard.branson.

Your Password

Your password is represented by asterisks for security reasons. To re-enter your password in the dial up connection box, do the following:

  1. If there is a tick in the Save password box, click on the tick to remove it.

  2. Type your password into the password field.

  3. Click in the Save password box again. Your password settings have now been updated.

    If you've forgotten your password you can reset it in the Forgotten password area.

If you still can’t connect, go to the next step.
