Help for Cable customers

To set up Virgin Media Text *, all you need to do is:

• Check you’ve got the right equipment and services.
• Register for Virgin Media Text.
• Update your service centre numbers so we know how to format the text for your phone.

* The sending of text messages is not available in all parts of the network. The receiving of text messages is available everywhere. These text messages are received as voice messages, if the receiving equipment does not support text messaging.

What equipment and services do I need?

You need:

• An active Virgin Media Phone line.
• A text compatible phone.
  For more information about the type of phone you need for our calling features, see What kind of phone do I need?
• To subscribe to the Virgin Media “Caller Display” service. While most customers can get Caller Display, it’s not available in some parts of the network.

How do I register?

As soon as you send your first text message you’ll be automatically registered for the service. Alternatively you can type ‘register’ into your text message and send to 00000.

How do I update my service centre numbers?

These numbers are used to configure your phone so you can send and receive text messages with Virgin Media Text. The service centre numbers vary for different models of phones. To find out which numbers to use and how to enter them, please refer to the manual that came with your phone.
