Using Virgin Media Security Firewall

Your Virgin Media Security Firewall has many features to help you maintain a secure broadband connection. Virgin Media Security Firewall monitors connections to and from your PC. It gives you control of:

• How your programs connect to the Internet
• How your programs share files over the Internet
• How settings identify you over the Internet
• Your applications, by checking for changes that may have occurred with or without your knowledge.

Virgin Media Security Firewall also offers 'always-on' protection and intrusion detection capabilities:

• 'Always-on' Protection (Windows XP users only): with the ability to be continuously connected to the Internet, it is important to ensure that you have protection against malicious hackers. Even when you are not logged in, 'Always on protection' continues to keep your computer safe.
• Intrusion Detection: Virgin Media Security Firewall monitors the connectivity to your system ports. Your system's ports are used by programs to channel information to and from your computer.
