It is important to remember that Parental Controls need to be set up on each individual PC in the home and that for Parental Controls to be truly effective, each user will need to log into each PC using their own Windows User Account and password.
Using Virgin Media Security Parental Controls
When your child surfs the Internet, you may want to restrict certain programs from connecting to the Internet or access to certain sites. For example, you can restrict chat room and instant messaging programs like MSN Messenger or games and gambling sites. You can use this feature in conjunction with the Scheduler within Virgin Media Security for added flexibility. For example, during homework hours you might want to grant your child Internet privileges but to restrict access to Facebook or instant messaging.
Virgin Media Security Parental Control is a content filtering service that gives parents full control over the online experience their children have.
This service is not a substitute for parental supervision, but helps parents to control the type of content that is available to their child on the Internet. If your child attempts to enter a website that is deemed to have inappropriate content, a message appears saying that the site is restricted. Sites that are blocked while surfing the Internet can be viewed in the Parental Controls history.

Setting your password
To ensure that the settings you defined cannot be changed, you can set a password. Virgin Media Security will ask you to set a password when Parental Controls is turned on for the first time.
The password can be removed in General Settings, but doing so will turn off Parental Controls.
