How to Personalise your Outlook Express settings

You can tailor Outlook Express to suit you. For example, if you like to be notified when a new message arrives, you can set a sound or an alert. You can also set up a signature to add to the bottom of your emails.

Here’s how:

1. From the Tools menu in Outlook Express, select Options. The following screen displays:

2. Each of these tabs contains options that you can set and change to alter the way that Outlook Express behaves. Move through the tabs and make any changes that you require. Refer to Outlook Express Help for details.

For instance, if you’d like Outlook Express to check for mail every 2 minutes, tick the Check for new messages every x minutes check box (that is, click on it to insert a tick), and select the number of minutes from the box alongside.

Click here for details on how to add a signature to each email you send.
