How to import an address book in Outlook Express

If you previously used another email program, and have switched to Outlook Express, you don’t have to re-create your entire address book.

You can import address book contacts from other email software and other Windows Address Book files (.wab).

To import a Windows Address Book:

  1. From the File menu, select Import, and then select Address Book.

  2. Browse to the address book you want to import, left-click to select it, and then click Open.

To import any other type of address book:

  1. From the File menu, select Import, and then select Other Address Book.

  2. Select the application from which you wish to import the address book, then click Import. If the address book cannot be automatically imported, you will need to browse to the file on your computer, select it, and then click Open.
