How to resolve error 720 – No PPP control protocols configured

This error can occur if you computer has been incorrectly setup for access to the Internet. Follow the steps below to try and resolve this issue:

  1. In Windows, double-click on Start.

  2. Double click on Control Panel.

  3. Double-click on Network Connections.

  4. Right click on the icon for your modem, and select Properties.

  5. Select the Server Types tab, and ensure you have the Type of Dialup Server set to PPP: Internet (or, if you do not see this option, select the option beginning with PPP).

  6. Click on OK at the bottom of the page, and attempt the connection again.

If this does not work, uninstall and reinstall the modem.
