How to attach a web page picture to a message

Want to copy and send a picture from a web site you’ve seen? Before you do, have a look at the copyright conditions on the web site. Otherwise you could be breaking the law. If it’s all okay, just follow the steps below.

By the way, if you’re sending a photo from your own computer, you can attach it by following the usual steps in Sending an attachment.

All set? Here’s how to copy and send a picture from a web site:

  1. Right click on the picture on the website, and select Save Picture As....

  2. Choose a location on your computer to save the file to (you might try saving it on the Desktop to make it easy to locate).

  3. Attach the file to your email message, either by dragging and dropping, or by using the Attach button.
Some email programs will ask you to save the image first before you can view it.
